BELIEFS OF PHW ON MAJOR ISSUES FACING SOCIETY

Abortion: There is certain situation that it should be performed.

Baptism: Baptism, by full immersion, is performed on request and after a confession of belief in Jesus Christ. Infants are not baptized.

Birth Control: This is a manner left up to the individuals but upon request information can be given.

Capital Punishment: In some cases capital punishment is justified.

Christ’s Return: Christ will return, and this second coming will signal the end of time as we know it.

Communion: There is no set schedule for communion and it is open to all believers.

Creation vs. Evolution: The ministry believes God created all things.

Deity of Jesus: Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary. He is the Son of God and is one in Spirit with God, although he is a distinct personality.

Homosexuality: By scripture GOD hates the sin, but loves the sinner.

Sexual Matters: Sex before marriage and living with the partner for six months trial is  recommended. Also, Civil Union between gays is accepted, marriage is between man and woman.

Divorce and Remarriage: Although the ministry wishes divorce and remarriage did not happen, it does not exclude a person if they have been divorced and remarried.

Government: The Senior Pastor and Overseer govern the ecclesiastical work. The Board of Deacons and Deaconess, which is the governing body that works under the Overseer, is made up of a board of five to twelve. Overseers, pastors, and assistant pastors take care of business on the state and local levels on daily basic.

Heaven/Hell: There is a literal heaven and hell. Those who profess Christ will go to heaven. Those who reject him will go to hell.

Inspiration of Scripture: All scripture is the inspired Word of God.

Miracles: God still performs miracles today.

Restrictions: The ministry opposes strong alcohol, illegal drugs, and tobacco.

Security of Salvation: The Christian faces a daily battle and may fall from grace.

Speaking in Tongues and Other Gifts of the Spirit: All the gifts of the Spirit are still in effect.

Trinity: There are three in the Godhead: the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. These are three Distinct Personalities.

Offerings: Progressive House of Worship, Inc. encourages the system of tithing and teaches it.

Women in Ministry: Women are ordained.
